Serious question. Do you have any aspirations in running your own restaurant?

I worked in catering for years as a waiter and behind the bar. Honestly, it's hard work that most people who have never done it wouldn't understand. I never worked in the kitchen, but I can only imagine the stress you guys deal with. My respect.

And while I'm glad to be out of the business, I miss all the little things you don't get in a cushy 9-5 office job, especially when you work with a lovely, quirky team of nice people, like; sex with waitresses, drugs, lots of shouting and roasting the staff, and free drinks from the manager. Makes me want to do it on weekends, but I'm too lazy.

Most chefs i have met in my life are fucking psychos. Very peculiar people.
I worked for a catering company when I was a kid and I don't think I've met any chef during those gigs who wasn't a barely functioning alcoholic.

For most people it’s better to just learn a trade and get good at it, there’s no shame to it and you’ll probably earn way more than most college kids who did useless degrees.

However Pat brags about his intellect constantly and gloats about his academic prowess. He failed high school at a retardation level, he didn’t go to college and he’s never had a good job and is unemployed.

I went to community college for HVAC. I am never going to be rich but I do ok and my family (who I did not abandon) will never be hungry either. Also that means I technically have a higher education level than Fatso.

How much sick unhygienic shit really goes on behind the closed doors of a kitchen?

One of the chefs I worked with smoked cigars while he was in the kitchen cooking. I only worked with this dude twice but I watched ash from his cigar fall onto whatever was on the grill/ cooktop a few times and his solution was to just turn over whatever it fell on. One wedding I worked at was in the middle of a huge field and there was limited water. Nobody was washing their hands.
