The SFWA's official statement (archive) is hysterical, repeatedly accusing her in a pearl-clutching tone of "using a racial slur".
If you read only that statement, you'd think that she had, like, walked onto the conference stage with a grin on her face and shouted into the microphone "Fucking niggers, am I right?".

In reality, her only offense was that when she praised a black colleague of her generation, she used the phrase "colored person" instead of "person of color".
The moderator didn't step in to point out to her that she had used an outdated term, either.
Instead, they let her finish her speech like the passive-aggressive cunts that they are, and then sent her and her husband (collective punishment I guess?) a message informing them that they were being thrown out.

The black colleague (and noted pedopshe was referring to, wasn't even offended (archive).
