GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

Anyone played it? I'm felt like going back and replaying the series and love the idea of updating with the modern control scheme, but I've read bad things online. Is it really that bad or is it just gamers being faggots as usual who have a game ruined for them if one little thing is wrong?

It doesn't feel the same. The newest mobile version from Netflix improved it, but those changes probably won't go to console.

Rockstar allowed some small studio ruin part of their legacy.

Contrarian Turk here : I really enjoyed it on the Switch, just a fun way to re-enjoy the series while laying in bed.

The DMAN just plays the og games. The definitive editions are just the new games with the old characters and locations re-skinned to look new. Animations are different and the whole engine is thrown together. A bunch of very basic features don’t work. Like honking the horn in vehicles wasn’t even part of the game (which meant you couldn’t pass certain levels that require honking) just all around failed bullshit.

And apparently they had more bugs than cyberpunk which was a disaster.

San Andreas was always overrated to The DMAN. Something about the entire game although with more features it ALL feels like filler. Like they weren’t really sure what to do beyond the new features. Vice City and 3 with their flaws are more fun. They feel inspired.

San Andreas was always too big and ambitious. The original wasn't bad, it was just... too much and unfocused. Theres really fun and interesting shit in there, but its buried under things that aren't.

And the driving and shooting sucks dick. The auto targeting is easy but it gets old after a while.

The streets are designed so that there’s really no long roads that are close to the action. You’re constantly taking hard right and left turns. You can’t speed anywhere because you’ll hit buildings. And it’s cramped with way too much traffic and way too many police. The cops will let Ballers shoot at you but if you hit back with your fists cops only chase you.

The map might be 4 times bigger but seemed like 50% of it was empty nothingness, no people or anything around.

Liked the idea of the gym and developing skills over time, but the whole Nigger aspect of the game was tiresome. And then there’s the fact that they had to make CJ a “sympathetic” protagonist just because he’s a Nigger. Yeah. That’s what we want. A reluctant gangster who is a kind hearted person. Fuck off.

SA is the best GTA for me, there are lots of cars to pick from and if you git good enough you will know which one is best for your style

Don't waste your money on these inferior shit games. Just play the original trilogy on pc with silent patches and mods. You'll have a much better time.

Arent these new one missing some songs off the original soundtrack due to licensing costs and a few bits of the dialogue changed because they were in poor taste? I know the original version of Vice City I have still has " Kill the haitians" but at some point they took it out of future copies they printed. Id imagine there are a few more of these types of censoring in the newer versions.

Rockstar is also to blame. They didn't even quality check the shit Grove Street Games was doing, or simply didn't care.

The GTA trilogy is Rockstars legacy and defines what they are today. But rather than making something that is worthwhile and give the new generation of gamers an updated experience of these games, they chose to take a giant shit on it and make something that is terrible. They did this because they knew it would sell anyways because it is GTA so why put in the extra effort.
