Im thinking of setting up my xbox 360 to play it again. I miss someone asking me to go bowling all the time.

GTA IV taught Millennials to stay in close touch with friends and family no matter how important work seems at the time. Zoomers got GTA V so they all just smoke dope and take taxis everywhere alone.

Cockstar doesn't understand single player and understands multiplayer even less. They have a great aesthetic and used to have some clever writing, but that's it. IV was the only time they got close to having an innovative engine.

I can call up cars without cheat codes, and can also use a shotgun or grenade launcher from a car. Still can't do that in V, because they abandoned single player completely.

I have a lot of good memories of playing IV on PS3 and reading this thread makes me want to go back and play it again. I didn't hate V by any means, but it didn't have a memorable story or characters aside from Trevor and was missing a lot of the goofier aspects from the previous games I liked.

V has an awfuuul story. Real garbage. It’s like they looked at the dogshit story they wrote for Max Payne 3 and were like wow that is literal shakespeare let’s really dial it down by 40 notches to appeal to our primary audience of 12 year old spics.

IV is the best and has interesting car physics. V made them babbies first arcade racer and nothing has any torque just embarrassing.

IV had some interesting online gameplay modes like one where one player is the boss and his team needs to escort him safely across town to a getaway vehicle and the other team has to kill him before he gets there. Unfortunately the lobby system was terrible and required every single player manually select ready before it would start. In V they of course threw out anything interesting and made it all garbage microtransactions and deathmatches with even worse network code. Of course the aforementioned 12 yo spics are pumping money into shark cards to this day.

IV was the shit, especially the driving. I might be remembering wrong but I'm sure there was no auto-aim online either as opposed to V.

the premade characters you could select in gta iv multiplayer were better than anything you could create yourself in gta 5 online. also didnt clash with the aesthetic and break the immersion.

red dead redemption online let you use any player model from the story mode. i would always switch between the mexicans, indians and the 2 idiot lawmen you met early in the game.
