I didn't pay anything. He was signing balls before a game and signed the one I had just caught.

Mel Stottlemyre was one of the coaches at the time and ripped a ball down 3rd and into the crowd and my 12 year old ass caught it. It was during pregame warm ups. Shane Spencer walked over and gave me props and by saying I made a nice catch and gave me a glove five and I asked him the sign the ball as well.

Completely making Jeter's autograph useless.
