After seeing so many of the pigman's fake gymrat tweets I decided that I never want to end up like him. Just looking at Patrick S. Tomlinson's fat face is a wake up call for anyone who might be the least bit out of shape to start adding a few routines into their schedule. I posted before about my wake up call and how it came thanksgiving morning when I realize the jeans I was having a hard time buckling were a size 36 instead of my usual 34. I started a few weeks ago and figured this place was as good as any when it comes to asking advice and for suggestions on things I could do to help the process as I am not overly familiar with exercise/training programs.
So far I built my program around Bob Backlund's Gym in a Box . Which is stair walking and a ab wheel (for someone who never had much core strength, that ab wheel is taking some time). To that I added a bit of jump rope and some simple dumbbell exercises with weights between 10lbs up to 35 lbs.
Starting weight was 205lbs, current weight is 203lbs and the weight I am going for is 175lbs.
Thank you all for the suggestions and advice. I am still wondering if there is anymore basic equipment I should look into? I still want to get a 10ft jump rope and I also thinking about more plates to go with the adjustable dumpbell set as I only have four 5lb plates and four 2&1/2lb plates. As for eating/drinking I replaced all soda's and other junk liquids with flavored water while working up to drinking water only. Also trying to figure what foods and snacks are best and how to set up a good diet.
I made sure to use a magnet on my non stainless steel fridge to hang the following hashtag up on it - #SNTBT which is "Say no to being a Tomlinson!". the only motivation a person would need.
sorry if this post is disjointed as I been doing piecemeal edits over the last 5 minutes or so while stuck on the phone with my insurance company.
