Been an atheist for most of my life, I'm a bit more spiritual these days, although I can entertain the idea of something creating everything in known existence, whether they give a shit or even want to control what goes on is more where I'm at.

Basically I don't know.
It's fine being atheists but spiritual. I think a lot of religious people don't get that. Just cuz I don't have a god doesn't mean I'm a nihilist. Although I sort of am.

Optimistic nihilism is totally a thing, guys. It's where you bite the bullet that everything is meaningless but then you say "Well I disagree" and act like it's not. This is a superior intellectual position to those theists who believe in things that aren't true.

Cynicism and skepticism are often confused. They're not the same thing. Not even close.
The cynicism is due to experience, the scepticism is just my attempt at being humble, as it's easy to think you know it all, but really you don't, and it's far better accepting that than having a 'nothing can surprise you' attitude.
