We hire girls with no education, no training, start them around $20/hr, train them, move them up to $25 an hour pretty quickly, insurance benefits, profit sharing, etc… and we can’t fucking find anyone. And then once in a while we do and they show up stoned or nodding out, or they simply ghost the office after a week.
We have all these women in their 50s who have been doing this shit for 30 years and no one to replace them.
I have no clue where the “lower” working class went.

We have people who haven’t turned up to work in anything from 3-18 months because of vague “mental health” issues and they remain on full pay.
When they come back they get to pick their hours and work only 3hrs a day till they feel ready to return full time, which they never do, on full pay. This situation just persists indefinitely. Even when they’re back they don’t do a single thing and everybody is too scared to bring it up because you will become the latest target of their mental health issues.
It’s really wild. The department is never more than 2/3rds staffed at the minimum required levels because of these guys.
