My best friend's brother trooned out after attending college away from home. It's become a definite "don't bring it up" subject, but his dumbass wife encourages it by leaving "You're so beautiful!" comments on his ghastly, testosterone laden social media posts.
A former customer of ours from our old toy store days trooned out as well, but we saw it coming a mile away. He was super into anime and shojo manga, and of course My Little Fucking Pony. Also abused by a family member. It is like sexual confusion bingo.

According to my mom and her Boomerbook sleuthing, I have a mtf tranny cousin on my dad’s side, but we’re long estranged from that side since I was a child so I don’t recall him.
The only troon I deal with regularly is the mtf tranny that works at the BevMo near my work. I drop in on Friday afternoons on my way home to pick up n/a beers or wine for the weekend, and he’s actually very helpful and happy to point out which ones are on sale or new. He’s a fat, middle-aged white guy that badly wears makeup and cheap women’s clothing and has long hair and wears a wide headband to hide his receding male hairline. His name is Chista and he’s a nice fella. Severely mentally ill, but nice.

Three guys from high school. One I never liked, he was a little shit and obviously the "transition" from John to Joanne was solely for attention. I found out via him messaging me as "her" about 10 years ago, one of the main reasons I stopped using facebook.
Another one was a friend-of-a-friend, nice guy but really weird, reportedly did gay shit with my buddy. Later had a kid with one of the ugliest women I have ever seen, like Jennifer Cumia mugshot in her 20s. Fawkin brootal. I found out through a really long email he sent me (among many others) that was his coming out manifesto. I read enough to figure out what was going on, saw the attached photo, felt a bit sad then started laughing and closed the email. No idea if he changed his name. This was before the FB message, I think.
Last was a guy I'd known since middle school, never close friends but always on friendly terms. Played guitar in a band with his brother. I didn't like their music but they played it well. He was a big fat guy, like Orca fat. I can't think of a good fictionalized version of his John-Joanne name change, and it's specific enough that he could probably be found using it so I won't put it here.
I haven't spoken to any of them in at least ten years, so I have no idea what happened to them. The last guy I hope found his way out before any drastic measures.
