Slightly off topic here, but have you watched that movie in the last few years? I did a while back and I'm almost certain the son character was originally written as a girlfriend. They have an oddly romantic relationship that seems quickly rewritten as a father and son bonding. I guess a trucker essentially taking an adult (presumably) woman from a domineering father isn't quite the heroic journey Sly wanted.Let me turn my hat first.
