you don't think hiring a dmv lawyer working out of his mom's condo for complex constitional law is a good idea jim
I'll have you know that he's an accountant with a law degree:

Rodney was born in Mountain View, CA and raised in San Jose, CA. He attended San Jose State University, where he obtained a degree in Accounting. Rodney is currently a partner in a business consulting firm that specializes in turning around failing companies. His consulting specialties are Accounting and finance.

This actually lines up with my other post after thinking back with hindsight. I wonder if this is why they went as cheap as possible. Other than the obvious (trying to save money), they may have thought that they just needed to file one response showing the quash had to be in Wisconsin. They hired someone to rubber stamp it never expecting 4 months 2 hearings and 24k later.

Brinton, scrambling after the June hearing, tried to get a pro hac vice motion thrown together but couldn't for some reason. Mayr looked like he had never been in a courtroom before. They could have gotten someone just as cheap but at least could string a few sentences together.

A motion to quash from a john doe is common in hit and runs for obvious reasons. California john doe motions are very complicated from a filling perspective. He probably was very familiar with the paperwork at least.

This makes the most sense and is now established canon.

Quasi just has to file a renewal. It doesn't really work like credit card debt. The court doesn't like when it says you have to pay money and you don't...

Compounding daily means I actually underestimated the total damage. Patrick is financially fucked if he refuses to pay Quasi.

Wrong, child, I only owe Quaso 4.25% interest. I'm sorry you're so bad at this.

Again not a bankruptcy attorney...but the judgement is in California, so it would be collecting interest there. Depending on how things go, once Quaso domesticates the debt to Wisconsin, then it would start accruing there. I think it works as a lien of sorts in California until domesticated in Wisconsin. Maybe Nikki has assets in California from her mom he can seize.

Quasi would need to review his options there.

So theoretically, and I know you're not a lawyer or anything, what would happen to a fat guy who was on the hook for a certain amount of money and vocally and outright refused to repay it?

To what extent would the pro hac vice have mattered? Surely Brinton - despite not appearing in court - was writing their responses and presumably live chatting with Mayr during the hearings, no?

Mayr would have done his best Ways impression. Would it have made a difference? probably not. Which is why Resto probably never followed up on the motion after he realized the quash was a done deal.

That said Resto looks like Cochran up there compared to Mayr

I don’t think it matters what Patso says. What matters is what he does, and we aren’t to the point where Quasi is trying to collect the debt yet to my understanding

A guy hands you a light envelope, it's just the beginning.
You think I started in this life 10 minutes ago?

You order those coolers, I get a Nigerian selling them for $25 on the corner, who’s not gonna say yes?
Coolers are one of those things, everyone wants one, no one knows how much they actually cost.
