You'd wait a year or two for the Big Lebowski but Silence of the Lambs is fine for a 12 year old? Lol, don't have kidsdamn that's a real ass post right there. I second this, The Warriors, Ace Ventura and Beetlejuice which were all mentioned.
I'd add:
Office Space
Silence of the Lambs
Young Frankenstein
Jeremiah Johnson
Fargo? you may need to wait a year or two to introduce The Big Lebowski
if you really want your kid to be fancy schmancy you should also force him to watch some longer format stuff. Spartacus would be a good first.
I feel ya, brothaman.Used to make me cry when Frank dies. My kid loved it, but wasn’t emotionally effected like I was

Time Bandits! It has zero jewish tropes or nonwhites that I can remember, and is a terrific, unique movie in which you never know what’s going to happen next.No Jewish pornography pls Funsters.
I make a real effort to expose my son to all the cultural touchstones. I want his pop culture background to be varied and expansive.
What are some of them movies you saw as an adolescent that stuck with you or shaped your youth?
I saw The Thing with my dad when I was 10 and it influenced the entire rest of my life, for an example.
The Matrix: ReNegroedI don't know if a kid's going to be into that weird orgy nonsense near the start of Reloaded. I sure wasn't.
I’m gonna beat the shit out of my girlfriend’s tits because of that gif. It’s OK, she’ll like it

Isn’t like the first chunk of the movie regarded as good until they have to make references to pop culture like Jersey Shore?I actually watched that remake of the three Stooges with my nephew and he enjoyed it, I liked it too
Absolutely, if anything it's better because you'll get more of the jokes. Michael Richards and Gedde Watanabe steal the show, but the whole cast does a good job. I can't recommend it enough.Does UHF hold up?
I saw it around that age, puts hair on your chest. You'd wait a year or two for the Big Lebowski but Silence of the Lambs is fine for a 12 year old? Lol, don't have kids
UHF is still fawkin' funny, I'd watch it any day of the week.Does UHF hold up? I watched it at a sleep over when I was like 8 or 9 and thought it was THE FUNNIEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME. I also felt that way about holy grail except i slightly peed my pants during it and then spent the rest of the night embarassed
Yeah, Larry Davids in it too and I laughed out loud a good few times which is rare for comedies that "recent"Isn’t like the first chunk of the movie regarded as good until they have to make references to pop culture like Jersey Shore?
How soon after did you try to tuck your genitals between your legs?I saw it around that age, puts hair on your chest.
All movies made by Jews.I’d go with meatballs, caddy shack, animal house for now. Later on you can slip in a few coen bros movies.
