Sal roasting Howard's wife Beth on the Stern Show is probably the all time greatest roast moment. It basically changed the entire Stern Show for the worst in the most dramatic way outside of Artie overdosing or Kinison dying. The Stern Show had done roasts before and roasts after but nothing came close to that moment.

- Howard goes to Sirius. Announces that they will do some special shows that are roasts.
- Various staff members and comedians are roasted. Some of the roasts are awul.
- Gary aka Bababooey gets roasted. Sal the Stockbroker decides to go nuclear during the roast.
- Does 30 seconds roasting Beth Stern for basically no reason other than to fuck with Howard.
- Moment becomes the highlight of the entire roast. Highlight of the year for the fans.
- Howard has Sal apologize to him and Beth off air. Threatens Sal with firing.
- Howard puts it out to the staff that Beth is off limits.
- Show becomes heavily neutered and less funny as Howard further loses his mind and hair.
- The clip of Sal roasting Beth is constantly struck from the internet for years and is still hard to find.

Howard himself used to unload on his first wife all the time, his parents too. But no one can criticize his Sweet Love without him becoming all delicate and butt-hurt.
