To OP: Singapore is good because it has the best food in SE Asia(crappy street vendors get awarded Michelin stars for how good they make one particular item), simple transit system means you can get to all the main bits without booking tours, prostitutes are from all over Asia so you can really take your pick and its basically legal, best airport in the world, lots to see and do in the day time, incredibly safe, most tourist shit is free, people are generally nice and welcoming if they see you're traveling alone, lots of western influence so people don't stop and stare at you like they do in most of China/Malaysia etc. If you want beaches and cheap cocktails its shit and I've grown more fond of jungle Asia over the years but I still miss living in Singapore.
