I think controlling your emotions properly includes giving yourself permission to access the whole range now and again, it can't always be switching between detachment and fury. Crying is a good mental cleansing thing to do on occasion. If you never cry, that's a big problem. If you cry all the time, that's a bigger problem. If you cry every so often for really important things, preferably alone, that seems healthy and fine to me.
