I have a British licence and a US one.

Nobody in Britain except women drive automatic, and the test involves driving a route across town and demonstrating you can do everything safely, if you hit the curb when you parallel reverse park you fail etc. Most roads are also designed for horses in the Victorian period and make no sense to navigate and are tiny.

In the US nobody drives manual and the driving test is basically turning up and collecting it, you could land a 747 on most roads.

The driving standard in the UK is magnitudes higher, or at least it was the last time I drove over there.
This is actually fairly accurate. I believe attending driving schools in Europe is also pricey and presents a barrier to entry; whereas here, it's free in high school

I had two cars in a row that were manual. They were under 5 grand but nice cars. All leather with a sun roof. German engineering is just so nice in my opinion. I recently bought a brand new Chevy and I don’t think it’s possible to get anything that’s in my price range in stick that’s new.

I've owned two cars w manual transmission. The first was because I needed a car, cheap and soon, and it was the only one that met those criteria. Piece of shit hatchback which I got a ten-minute lesson on before driving home in bumper-to-bumper on the Garden State Parkway.

But I learned it and bought a faggy (used) Audi TT because I wanted a fun fag car that girls would think was cool. They didn't. More dudes would compliment me on it...

My daily is automatic, because my wife can't be bothered to learn stick, but I'm glad if the need arises for me to drive manual I know how. Plus, I can jerk off while driving easier in my automatic than I ever could in the Audi.

Newer manuals are much easier to drive too. I was giving my uncle shit bc he bought a Super Bee years ago and he was complaining about the tranny. He gave me to keys to take it for a spin and after a few mins my left knee hurt from the heavy throw on the clutch and even getting the gear knob in the right spot took more force than I expected

Of course women weren't impressed by an Audi TT. That is a woman's car.
