Boomers don’t understand buying power.

it’s hilarious how boomers decry any sort of “socialism” like using their tax dollars to cancel “our” student debt meanwhile they use OUR tax dollars to fund their social security scam. Anyone who thinks a 30 year old will be getting social security when they reach the age is insane.
Lol why should anyone cancel student debt? Pay your bills. People have been saying social security would dry up since the 80s. If it can survive the boomers, and so far it has, there's no reason why it will fail, ever.

Why should older generations get free or essentially free education and everyone else has to take on a lifetime of debt?

The job market is also fiercely more competitive and you pretty much need these degrees to get any kind of career now, not like before where you could work your way up.

Boomers own 53% of the wealth at 1.1m per capita, they had cheap education, bountiful job opportunities, cheap housing, generous pension schemes which are long since discontinued and the only government expenditure they have protected is the military and social security (for only them)

Millennials own 5% of the wealth at 90k per capita, with limited job opportunities and absolutely everything you could care about costing 5-20x higher if not more with lower wages by buying power.

In that time span, the country has also become so hopelessly insolvent with 200 trillion + dollars of total debt. (Official and unsecured) while raising the budget debt ceiling every single year in a sick ritual. You would have to be brain damaged to think social security is solvent or will be there much longer.

It’s totally, without any ambiguity, true that the older generation have brutally gang raped the country for their greed and ruined it for everybody else.

I can forgive all of this, but I can’t forgive when older people ignore the truth and think they deserve it and everyone else is lazy. It’s ridiculous.

The only reason it survived is because they've been Jewing for decades.

One trillion seconds is 33,000 years.

We are at least 200 trillion dollars in the hole.

You’d have to invent a time machine and travel back to the cradle of humanity and invest a million dollars a day to begin to cover it.

We’re a Ponzi scheme and if you are relying on social security for retirement, you’re a tap water drinking vaccine taking moron. How long can the Ponzi scheme go? I have no idea.

I remember watching penn and teller bullshit in like 2008 and they were like ONE TRILLION DOLLARS DEFICIT! like it was some unfathomably large and scary number (it is) and now we just print trillions every few months and raise the debt ceiling a few trillion every single year so the country doesn’t collapse.

It’s obvious where this ends, and it’s scary how it matches the end of the Roman Empire. Down to an obsession with trannies and open borders.

Most people have no idea the depths of desperation, violence and poverty we are in store for.

200 trillion + dollars of total debt
Wildly overstated but ~30 trillion is still in an insane amount. National debt doesn't matter and never has. That's a lesson learned over 100 years ago.

It's survived 90 years with multiple economic environments far worse than what we're facing now and it's been fine the whole time. It's greatest threat is the boomers living too long but life expectancy is going down slightly.

30 is the official debt, look up the total unsecured debt.

It’s survived through a Ponzi scheme and cronyism. Not organically.

Boomers have a point when they say “I paid into it all my life, it’s mine” with social security but the fact is, every last cent they paid was spent decades ago and they’re paid out by the contributions of kids and their kids now. It’s obscene.

None of the government debt is secured in a traditional sense. It's backed by the ability to tax businesses and citizens and the overall strength of the dollar (the world's currency). There's no collateral, like a credit card. And unlike a credit card there's no one coming after the assets of the US if we failed to pay. Reminder: more than 2/3 of the debt is owned by the US or its citizens.

And yeah, that's how social security has always been sold as: what you're getting now is not what you put in. You guys must only spend time with uneducated boomers. That's what I love about the student loan debate. You have kids/young adults saying "I borrowed $200,000 for a degree and can't find a job!" Did no one in your family tell you that was a bad idea? Degrees in humanities and liberal arts have never been a guarantee of a good paying job.

You’re being hyper pedantic on tiny semantics and I don’t know why.

The US is insolvent and it’s main product is consuming, boomers are the first generation to die richer than their offspring and we’re still being led by 90 year olds to benefit 60 year olds.

It’s fucked.

Not to mention being in constant wars, constantly committing heinous war crimes while also being the global moral virtue police.

It’s a whole different world for kids and it’s going to become so much worse than people can fathom, and nobody cares as long as they personally are alright. It’s just wrong. It’s hateable.

It’s like ruining kids lives during covid and forcing them to get injected with dangerous bullshit to make old people feel safe. When did society flip to sacrificing the young for the old? It should be and always has been the other way till now.

What possible justification could they give? 401k is the closest thing to a pension you can get now.
It’s young people bitching that they don’t have the money now and how if they take it out early you pay a penalty and they’re getting lots of views because people actually get their news and information from tik tok. It seems to be a trend of young people posting videos that 401k’s are a SCAM because the future is far away and everybody wants everything now. If your company offers a 401k AND they match a certain percent a year you’re an idiot to not take it.

The company I work for on top of matching 401k also give a yearly holiday gift of 750 bucks to everyone’s 401k that make under a certain amount. I overheard a younger girl (mid 20s) scoff at the company doing that because she said 401ks are a scam without explaining how a 401k is a scam.

The national debt is officially 30 trillion but the unsecured liabilities is about 200 trillion. Social security etc.

You’re making my point for me, only a retard believes the official number only.
SS and all intergovernmental loans are accounted for in the $30 trillion. Why would they lie when $30 trillion is already an astronomical number?

But again, the national debt is meaningless.

Just look it up, I’m not bullshitting you, it’s hard to find the data now for (((obvious reasons))) but it’s out there.

I believe social security is an unfunded liability of 75 trillion till 2050 or something?

I’ll find them later after work if you don’t look yourself.

Are we talking the $80 trillion projected out to 2098? Yeah, I think we'll be fine.

Lol. There’s nothing you can see that changes your mind for some reason. Yeah everything is fine, everything has always been fine. There’s no point investigating anything beyond what I’m told to think by the government.

Oh sweetie, I’m sorry people do their own research and draw different conclusions to everything is great.
