Yeah, I actually have a lot of great memories of that time. It was tough but exciting and weirdly, even though most days were in the same place with the same people, there were rarely two days that were the same.

And don't believe any of us ever referred to ourselves as entrepreneurs. That's the kind of word you let other people use about you.

It’s something women can’t really ever appreciate. Broadly speaking because obviously there are outliers.

As a man, nobody really cares about you, nobody will look after you and care for you. There’s no security blanket for when you fail.

It can be pretty exhausting after a while and you need to realise it’s going to be like that till you drop dead.

Every issue you have, every hardship, it’s on you. You alone. Most women, every woman I’ve been with at least, fall back on someone all the time. If they have car trouble, me or their dad sort it, if they need someone to pick something up, me or their dad sort it. Literally every minor inconvenience in their life, a man is acting as a personal assistant and resolving it.

I know women who have some hardship and crumble into bits and go to therapy for years, and it’s stuff we all deal with pretty much every week of our lives lol.

The flip side is they have to deal with retard thirsty men and rapists and can’t physically protect themselves - which absolutely must suck.

Just want to add that all teachers are womanly in this regard

They act like they’re being nailed to a cross because of any hardship at all, when it’s completely normal in every single job.

“I have to do work at home unpaid!” “I had to supply my own stationary!” Etc - yeah stupid, every one does.

It’s too hot, teachers can’t work, it’s too cold, teachers can’t work, it snows too much? Can’t work. It rained too much? Can’t work. They have to have a week off every 6 weeks and they don’t work all summer either, which they expect to be paid for as well for some reason. When they aren’t working, everyone else must be working to accommodate them though of course.

I fucking loathe teachers. If you can’t do anything, teach. Then complain about it incessantly all the time.

The teachers all get that union mentality and there is no financial benefit for working overtime or at home, they should just say fuck it if grading some idiot's math test is such a big deal. If you want to have this conversation with one of them, just remind them that the custodian at their school has 2 assistants (one of them is usually his wife or kid) they never work more than 8 hours per day and they make double what teachers make, because they deserve it.

They usually go to college then become teachers and never work anywhere else, so they think all the shitty aspects of their jobs are a unique burden they carry - when it’s completely normal and in fact they have a lot of benefits others don’t.

I’m not saying it’s not a shitty job but they’re totally delusional. My ex was a teacher and it was insufferable the way she thought it was unheard of to work overtime out of hours for free, I do that constantly, everyone does.

I am specifically referring to the union mentality. I see it every week, there is always 5 guys on any 20 man crew who call the union to complain about some stupid shit or try to scam extra hours. Today I cut off a shop steward in mid sentence and told him "this is the dumbest conversation I've ever had" His complaint that day was that we planned a Saturday shift this weekend and asked if anyone wanted to work, they all acted like they were doing us a huge favor and would begrudgingly skip a day of drinking in their backyard to help us out for time and a half plus an extra 2 hours plus double breaks due to the heat. After hearing all their bullshit, we just said "never-mind see you all on Monday" That weekend 3 different guys complained to their union that we owed them overtime / compensation because they had to change their weekend plans to help us out or whatever stupid argument they were making. Every non union guy (3 of us) at the site worked Saturday to make sure all the deliveries were scheduled and the dumpsters changed out before monday. If we all took saturday off we would have had to cancel work for Monday and Tuesday, Imagine the bitching that would have followed that move.
