Spiritual warfare is a very real thing.
Throughout my life, I will go into cycles where I have sleep paralysis, and in the "dream", I am in bed, exactly in the same position I am lying in, everything. It's almost like I am watching myself.
But there will always be a shadow being at the foot of the bed, antagonizing me. In some dreams, he makes me levitate, and in one dream he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and violently pulled me up, and I could FEEL it.
Even in the dream, I knew that I could banish it by invoking the name of Jesus. The problem is, of course, I had sleep paralysis, so it was difficult to talk. I would try to form words, but I would just moan. My wife would wake me up, telling me that I was moaning in my sleep, and one time she woke me up and I saw a massive shadow in our bedroom doorway, before it fled.
There is some sort of connection between dreams and spirituality that I just can't figure out. Even in the Bible, if you remember, God and His angels often communicated through dreams.
Ignore the Redditors who are going to hit you with an "ACKSHULLY". Spiritual warfare is a real thing, and the enemies' motive is to wear you down, discourage you, and break you. God says that we are not given a spirit of fear - fear, like all negative emotions, empowers them. Deprive them of this.

I’ve seen them as clear as day in the same way you describe, I’ve seen them outside my dreams after waking up, people will explain it’s lingering dream state or something but like you, I felt them physically.
No love is in them, not a shred of it. Pure absolute hatred.
They stay in families, I saw them when I was 15 or so and I had no idea about anything like that, I wasn’t sub consciously conjuring them up.
I believe they plague me because of my family, and they left me alone for years because I was living in a way that they abide. Now I’m trying not to, and they’re back, they won’t do anything to you in this life if you’re already serving them and seperate from the living God.
I’ve no doubt most of it is prelest, like @Turry Fawks says, but I have without any shadow of a doubt been plagued with something.
I pray for two things, for the Lord to test me with every trial that I can withstand and that is needed to humble me to where I should be, and to save me through his grace. We’re saved through works, just not our own and I know he can save us all through grace alone, it’s the only way. If we deserved it, grace wouldn’t be grace.
Anyone here fedora maxxing us, swear off sin as much as you can and obey Christ as much as you can, and see how these things come for you. They certainly will.

There was a religious store in one of the malls near me when I was growing up where my parents bought me an action figure with all of the terms on the pieces of armor (Faith on the Shield, Righteousness on the Breastplate, etc). I have nothing to add except it was a cool toy.
