Anybody else notice how incredibly depressing Burtons’s Batman (92’) sequel was?

I just watched this and was surprised at how fucking sad this movie is. Gotham is basically Oakland, CA. The villains are violently abused sadists and I get that Tim Burton is a hippie who thinks that society creates criminals but goddamn. The Joker (‘89) was at least a criminal before he was defeated by Batman.

Catwoman is a metaphor for rape I’m guessing and I have no I idea what the Penguin is supposed to represent. The failures of the system? I don’t know.

Batman stalking gangland beating up gangbangers was fun to watch, I guess. But seriously Batman kills people again? Because that guy he lights on fire and the other dude he straps a bomb to definitely dies.

And he doesn’t even get the girl at the end.

I think parents were complaining that McD's were giving out Batman toys with their Happy Meals yet the film wasn't for kids, or something. Maybe that was a UK thing though?

In any event, Tim Burton was booted as the director and 3-5 years later we were seeing Batnipples.

I enjoyed Batman Begins. The Dark Knight was too long and, if Heath Ledger hadn't died, I'd argue it probably wouldn't have had the same impact it did. The third one was completely forgettable. The Pattinson one I didn't even finish, though I thought he did a good job. Again, too long and taking itself too seriously. There's a happy medium between that and the camp 60s show/gay porn Schumacher ones, and Tim Burton achieved it.

I only liked the first Keaton bat man movie. The modern ones all blow and growly voice stunk. Heath played a decent joker, I'll give him that. The latest one was okay in the fact that he was more of a detective, but emo bangs Bruce Wayne was fucking comical

I remember McDonald’s being upset since they had a big tie-in, everything from happy meals to plastic collectible batman forever soda cups and the movie was pretty dark / scary for kids. They also had a big tie in for the third Batman with Val Kilmer.

I make my girlfriend put on her catwoman costume (legit leather, the real deal, not cheap shit) and suck n fuck. Its good. That movie fucked my shit up as a young boy, it activated my foreverboner that still bothers me to this very day. Send help.
