It's a great feeling when you can tell they're kind of comfortable being near you.I've got neighborhood quails and jays coming to my lawn and patio to chow down on the shelled peanuts I offer them. It's been pretty cool studying their beauty and learning their vocalizations (warning calls, content cooing, etc.) from a few feet away. Dry roasted, unsalted shelled peanuts worked like a charm. Thanks for the tips, uncle @aRTie02150 !
Once they know a good source of peanuts they'll never want to leave. It's the perfect food them.
Fruit is good too, since quails are smaller they'd probably be better off with raspberries or blackberries or something similar that can be picked apart easily.
