31 Days of Horror Movies (ongoing thread)

I'm gonna do my own "31 Days of Dirty Ol' Trucker Movies" within this thread. Last night I watched High-Ballin' starring Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda. Much like the way MC Serch was raised by his parents but also grew up in the streets, High-Ballin' ruled hard but also sucked.

Jerry Reed plays a cool badass trucker and Peter Fonda plays himself (a hippie faggot). I was glad to see that in his first scene in the movie he gets called a faggot by several people. I also appreciate that this movie portrays all truckers as stupid fucks, because they are.

I don't remember the ending because I was drunk. You'd think the movie takes place in the Southern US with most of the accents, but you can see the CN tower at one point, all the vehicles have Ontario plates and there's always snow on the ground. The first scene of the movie features the single most jewy cowboy I've ever seen. He looks like Gene Shalit in a cowboy hat. I almost turned it off right away because of that but I'm glad I didn't.

Tonight will be The Great Smokey Roadblock starring Henry Fonda and Robert Englund. What's with the Fondas and dirty ol' trucker movies? "I'm not a Hollywood faggot, I swear. I'm a salt of the earth biker/trucker type."

Watched it and it fucking sucked. Naht funny or clever and I predicted the killer from the first scene.
I looked at the director and immediately knew what to expect.

Any giallo movies planned for the month @Harry Powell ?

For sure my nigga. Gonna watch Alice Sweet Alice soon bc I never saw it. Watched dressed to kill again recently so that’s off the list. How strict are we with the definition? I post here so I watch cruising weekly.

WWAW Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Still probably my all time favorite horror film and still holds up extremely well. Even enjoyed the 2003 remake.
Great movie that I hardly ever rewatch - something about it specifically is a little too much for me.

Im mostly talking about the Italian directors like Bava, Fulci, Argento, Martino but I'm pretty sure I've seen ASA described as a giallo

October 8: DOUBLE FEATURE NIGHT

1) Friday the 13th (1980s).

Following up Halloween and Halloween II with another slasher. I think a lot of the fun of this movie is lost due to the last 40 years of slashers making the reveal and final battle kinda weak

2) Final Destination

Figured my kid would FAWKIN’ love this one and he did. Learning the “rules”, trying to outsmart death. Just a great concept.

I remember thinking Final Destination 2 was just as good as the first one when I was a kid. I haven't seen it since so I could've been wrong.

I laugh at them because they're all the same.

In fairness you dont get a real Friday the 13th with Jason with 1. Gotta jump straight to part 4. That is the best F13th movie. Hockey mask, extreme kills, better story.

Can anyone name a horror movie that's about atom bombs and takes place in some cornfield part of the country? I think a brother comes back from WWII and is messed up. There's a crazy woman, and I don't remember what else but damn it freaked me out when I saw it.

While this isnt a "horror" movie. Fire in the Sky was creepy to see as a kid.

I think that's the general consensus and some people even put it on the list of sequels better than the first. I agree personally. 5 is pretty good too
Final Destination is one of my favourite horror franchises. FD, Evil Dead and Scream. FD4 is the only bad one. 5 is one of my favourite sequels of all time, might be the best experience I've had in a theatre.

You mean the
guy holding a flag over his head that literally reads "Sweet 16 Killer" ten seconds in
?

Lots of stupid shit that got a nigga's eyes rolling but I snorted a couple of times, so it wasn't a complete waste.

And I don't remember seeing that many mixed-race couples in the 1980s.
