My kind of FAWKIN month! Though sadly, I booked our bands break before the month started, lotta tourin' going on now. Sniff
But, still, I'll be home for Halloween this year, and on that day, it'll be a Vincent Price Marathon.
Oh yes, lambchops, while my brain is always enamored by the shadowy works of the late great Val Lewton, my horrific heart will always go for the crazy, campy and unnerving Vincent Price. For such a classically trained actor, horror films were in his blood. He always played the roles with just the right weight of ham to it.
From "The Last Man on Earth", to "Masque of the Red Death", to " Theater of Blood", and the Schlocktoberfest known as "House on Haunted Hill", this mincing little creepy bastard is the memories of my childhood. It wasn't often my local channels Shock Theater would show the classy Universal monsters, but they showed the low budget William Castle films quite often. Can't even count how many times I watched The Tingler. And I'll never forgetp seeing The Poe Cycle by Corman in my young teens.
What do you watch, fellas? Do you indulge your basest desires and watch nothing but slasher cinema? Or do you watch "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on a loop like a psychopath?
