I get that most anime is gay, but I’m a long time fan of Junji Ito and am glad this is getting an anime that looks great.

I haven't read it in forever but I loved it, only wished that it was more of a cohesive story. Them eating one of the slug people is burned into my brain. Big fan of Ito, pretty sure I've read everything he's done.

I agree but there are some cases where the anime manages to make it better. I prefer the Kaguya anime to the manga, everyone working on it managed to kick it to the next level.
Then there are cases where the soundtrack really manages to elevate it, like in Girls' Last Tour.
