Basically. This white middle class dude gets thrown in jail in.The Tombs in a block with mostly black and Hispanic inmates, some serving sentences for or awaiting trial for serious crimes. He tries to learn the ropes until the guards leak his charges and most everyone turns in him. But one long time Hispanic inmate sorta struggles with whether to help him and cause problems for himself and his release or just let the other inmates beat rob or kill him.
Pretty good though. Based on a play by Miguel Pinero. I tend to like movies based on plays because they have to be grounded in good storytelling

This movie had a happy ending. Juan is a faggot. I find it hilarious that Freddy Fender is in such a dark movie for some reason.
