I heard the same thing which is a shame since they are so cool. I always wanted one of these more to be honest wit cha.my friend's dad had one of those in his garage that never worked! he always said he was going to fix it but i guess they're expensive to keep running. the one i played the most was the terminator 2 machine.
It’s great to leave a legacy like that that your children and grandchildren can honor you for after you dieI am proud owner of a top 3 score on the Tron machine at BitBar in Salem, MA.

Time is moneyThey’re not expensive to maintain, they’re time consuming to maintain. Especially the older ones. I owned two pinball machines years ago, very time consuming to test everything on the boards and wiring to keep them operating.
DUDE i just LOVE the hustle and bustle of the big city, it’s so DYNAMIC and makes me feel like i’m in one of my favourite TV SHOWS. you should totally come on down to my studio apartment, it’s got EXPOSED RED BRICK walls and everything, we can crack open a nice hoppy ipa or three and get crazy watching some cartoons on adult swim! and dude, dude, DUDE, we have GOTTA go down to the barcade- listen here, right, it’s a BAR where us ADULTS who do ADULTING can go DRINK. BUT!!!! it’s also an ARCADE like when we were kids, so we can play awesome VIDEO GAMES, without dumb kids bothering us. speaking of which megan and i have finally decided to tie the knot- literally -we’re both getting snipped tomorrow at the hospital, that way we can save money to spent more on ourselves and our FURBABIES. i’m fuckin JACKED man, i’m gonna SLAM this craft beer and pop open another one!!!Pinball and arcade machines are a lost relic of our not too distant pass that I miss a lot. Obviously there are still some arcade places out there but it’s a failing business model on its own kinda like video rental.. that’s why they’re usually attached to a bar now so millennial fags like myself can get drunk and soyjack over Turtles in Time and Simpsons.
The cost to repair and maintain them is basically more than what they bring in in quarters pretty much anytime other than the first year you put them in an arcade or bar. I have a bowling alley near me that used to have dozens of machines. The owner sold all of them for crane games and games for children. Because you needed a full time employee to literally do nothing but babysit the machines and repair them all day and night. They’re not expensive to maintain, they’re time consuming to maintain. Guy sounds like a Compound Media subscriberMy friends divorced dad had a Playboy pinball machine that made sex sounds with naked girls moaning and shit. We always watched football there as a kid and it was PFG. Also always had stacks of vintage porno mags.
The old Williams machines rule.
Newer pinball machines kind of blow. They just don't have the same charm, no memorable call outs, no original ideas. They almost all feel the same, just wrapped up in a different skin.
