How does it compare to Era Vulgaris?
I actually don't care too much for Era Vulgaris (or Villains)- so to me it's much better. Not even close.

My ranking is-

1a Self-Titled
1b Like Clockwork
3. Rated R
4. Songs For The Deaf
5. Lullabies to Paralyze (still a great album)
6. In Times New Roman (definitely growing on me and it will go up in rank)
7. Era Vulgaris (decent album)
8. Villains (swing and miss with Mark Ronson as producer as I think Josh gave it one last try to go mainstream-- The Evil has Landed, Feet Don't Fail Me Now, and Fortress stand out).

You should. Did you ever see that massive Prince bootleg called "the work"?

That bootleg is the reason I'm such an invested fan. The guy had 2 entirely different careers, a mainstream career and a simultaneous underground one that almost nobody but the diehards know about. And the "unfinished" underground songs are some of my all time favorites from him or anybody else.

I love that as they release more Super Deluxe remasters of his old albums these days, they are including Bonus discs with all those bootlegged songs in master quality. It's a mindfuck hearing a song you only know in 128kbps or worse in high fidelity for the very first time. Songs I've heard thousands of times before.

And the alternate/demo versions of the songs he already put out were fascinating to listen to, because of what was missing, and what was originally included that he decided to exclude in the final product. It's like doing research on the thought process of a drastic psycho.

And the added layer of his black old queen fanboys on Prince.org provide a lot of context to some questions as you discover new things. "The Work" was the one I started with, then kept adding other bootlegs that had even more obscure tracks.

It reminds me of the autistic wrestling "theme collectors" who have arena recordings of the 1st version of Chris Jericho's theme song before Jim Johnston started adding more parts to it every other week. And now those songs are getting released on Spotify too. Lol

Absolute faggot lack of taste tier list here. I get that QOTSA is half a mainstream and half a cult band, but this list makes almost no sense. Rated R is not ironically better than SFTD, and Clockwork isn't better than that actually.

Dumb stupid faggot.
