I was scrolling through twitch and there's a channel only showing 90s nickelodeon shows. Nick Arcade was playing and I haven't watched it over 30 years.

Even as a kid I thought the "go inside a video game" final round was lame and clunky. The kids were always awkwardly looking off screen at a monitor. They always sucked at the actual video games too, the goal would be to get like 30 rings in Sonic 2, and they'd walk the entire time and constantly run into spikes.

Nick made the final levels of their games almost impossible to beat to not have to pay out the final prize. Nick Arcade's final round was a blue screen set up like TV weathermen use. How is a kid going to understand it? The arcade games sucked too, because they wouldn't use any of the violent ones that were the only reason to go to an arcade back then.
