PFG if you ask me. Fury Road should have had Mel in it, telling the bald bitch that she should just fucking smile, and BLOW him.

I've only seen mad max 2 and fury road. I enjoy 2 more, but would likely prefer fury road if gibson were in the lead with less focus on charlize thyroid. I still need to see the first, but I've heard thunderdome's a bit of a stinker
1’s pretty good but I still like 2 the most. It’s interesting seeing the decline of civilization because there’s still a functioning court system in 1.

"We couldnt have mel in fury road because he was too old. We needed a younger actor"

All mad max did was stay tied to a fucking truck the whole time. And he was in an animalistic state, like an old man would be wandering the wasteland his whole life.

Mel as max wouldve made way more sense as tom. You lying fucks.

road warriror > fury road > mad max 1 > beyond thunderdome

Havent seen furiosa but i just cant stand the main actress so not looking forward to it.

I put 1 above Fury Road. I loved Goose and the gang Max fought had some good characters. Fury Road was fun, but it was just an updated Road Warrior with less Max.

I'll have to rewatch 1, ive only seen it once. Might be better on rewatch.
If you do, tell me if you think the retard on the farm is the same retard from Thunderdome. I have a theory he became Blaster from Master Blaster after his grandma died and no one was around to take care of him.

Anyone here can feel free to debunk my retard theory and tell me they just look the same. Apparently one of Max’s former coworkers from 1 has a background cameo in Thunderdome so there is some consistency in the films.

I've only seen the first two but that's why I prefer 1. Good Death Wish-esque type film. 2's cracking but I'd love to have seen it properly on a big screen. Wasn't a fan of the comical helicopter guy either, fucked the tone up.

Johnny ( the cop with the damaged throat from MM1 ) wasn't in Thunderdome; there was just a prisoner in the underworld who looked like him that Max and Pig Killer walked by.

I dig your theory. It's very possible. The actor who played that tard was also in The Road Warrior. He was one of those 2 prisoners strapped to the front of Humongous' truck ( he was the "broken prisoner").

Mel was supposed to be in Fury Road, way back when it was first announced in 2002. It was largely the same movie, except that it was intended to be the "last" Mad Max movie. Max's story would have gone full circle and he would have found his peace when he and Furiosa ( then called Praetorian) fell in love, and Max ascended to the Citadel with them. It was hinted that one of the other wives, Toast ( played by Zoe Kravitz in the movie) would become a villain when she puts on Immortan Joe's mask.

Miller just decided to make it a younger Max movie when the court of public opinion turned against Mel around 2006.

Isn’t Johnny the boy in Toecutter’s gang that Max kills last (or he survives if he cut off his hand. I think we never know for sure)? Either way, the damaged throat cop is who I meant so thanks for clarifying. Too bad. It would have been interesting if he ended up there. I’d like to know what happened to all of Max’s injuries of acquaintances.

Oh that’s interesting. I’ll need to take a closer look next time. I haven’t watched any of them in years. I might subject my family to a marathon as part of Father’s Day.

You are absolutely right. I was thinking of Charlie. Thanks for the correction!

It's never been confirmed one way or another, but there's been persistent rumors for YEARS that there's a deleted scene from Mad Max that shows Toecutter's gang attacking the station and killing the rest of the cops.

I'm not sure if that holds up because I want to say that you hear radio chatter after Max takes the black on black Interceptor, but I could be mistaken.

The Road Warrior is my favorite but also love the first Mad Max. Got my first beej to it in high school so it holds a special place in my heart. And it's just a great low-budget movie. Pretty sure someone died during one of the stunts. The third one was pretty silly and I didn't finish it. Worth watching? And how about Fury Road? People seem to like it. New one does not interest me at all. It doesn't look Many Saints of Newark bad, but just seems unnecessary.

I actually really love Thunderdome, but I totally understand why other people don't. It was also the first MM movie I ever saw, back in the cable days.

I like how it actually attempted world building, and didn't just go for more cars and stunts. It also makes sense that there wouldn't be as many cars at this point, because although the makeup doesn't do a good job communicating it, but it's supposed to be like 20 years after The Road Warrior, and Max is supposed to be in his 50s / 60s.

Another way to look at the movies is that RW is the story of Moses ( a man leads the people out of persecution to the Promised Land, but is unable to enter himself because of his own sins), and Thunderdome is the story of Jesus - "dies" in the desert and rises again in a new body ( his hair is cut), he performs miracles ( catches the wind and makes the dead speak again with that record), only those who truly believe are delivered, and they ascend skyward after his sacrifice ( and his temple is bloody, almost like a crown of thorns).

Co-writer Terry Hayes even pitched Thunderdome to a reluctant Mel Gibson by billing it as "Jesus in leathers".
