In the Alan Partridge podcast, which was great, he took a listener question about his thoughts on Bond maybe being black and he said it doesn't matter cause they already fucked it by casting a Scotsman in the first one.

I don't know why I'm defending another man's looks, but here we are. Pierce Brosnan looked suave as hell and absolutely could pull off Bond. He didn't look like a squat, stocky dockworker built to unload freight off a ship like many Irish.
