Tiling is fairly easy. Not much different to wallpapering in that if you have all the right equipment it makes it easy. Tile cutter, ceramic drill bits, grouting blades, spirit level etc, place tiles down first so you don't end up having to put a 1/4" tile slice down one edge, buy those little plastic spaces to really make it easy. There is nowhere in the process you could reasonably expect to fuck up just need a little confidence. I had the same doubts when I tiled the backsplash around my kitchen units. Tiles are fucking expensive and I didn't want to fuck up and have to remove them all. When you get into a rhythm though its quite a relaxing job to do.
