Only lazy artists do concert albums, just to satisfy a contract usually. Total asshole move.

Best live EDM record. Almost as good as the studio LP and, in my opinion, BETTER than Alive 2007. I was such a faggot for missing this tour.

as for recent live albums, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Live is the shit. I'd bet it's 100% live too. All their live albums are great but I'd say do that first one first.

Styx - Caught in The Act has some of their best shit on it
REO Speedwagon - You Get What You Play For is great
Triumph - Live at the US Festival is great

Oasis has shitloads of great live bootlegs, Main Road, GMEX, Barrowlands, Gleneagles, on and on

BJM live from 2016 bootlegs are great.

Got any Made in Japan back there ?

It’s Highway Star in case you’re curious

Live albums seem like a thing of the past, or I’m just fucking old ?

Made In Japan for sure. Has to be played very loudly, though. Ditto Motörhead's "No Sleep Til Hammersmith". UFO "Strangers In The Night" is a good one too. And Priest, "Unleashed In The East" is another one.

That is one of their best shows. Love 70s era Dead. The 80s onward just was not the same
The Pacific NW 73-74 set is up there. Then again, IMO, most shows between 71-78. But that show is special. Sure, one of the first widely-circulated Betty tapes (at least in terms of popularity), but there is zero fat on it. No drums, no space, no Other One/Dark Star, no meandering, and a powerful first set. Even if you're not a fan, check out "Loser", "Mama Tried", "Brown-Eyed Women" and "Scarlet" from that one. The recording quality alone...

Maiden Japan has been mentioned (and DP's Made In Japan), but Maiden's "Live After Death" is another all time classic.

Worlds on Fire by the Prodigy is pretty amazing but Liam Howlett already writes his albums to be live sets so it's probably better to just listen to Invaders Must Die. Rammstein Live in Paris is really good too.
