Specifically up until Rollins left. I posted this song just because it is badass, they sound great. A lot of jazz, and even Grateful Dead.

Guitar nerds, is he playing an Armstrong?

If you do t listen to Black Flag, you should, and I question your masculinity if you don’t

I still like them. Dez was my favorite vocalist. "My War" is their magnum opus, but I'm partial to that sludgey stuff. I think their 1982 demo was their peak as a band though. I love their awful, bleak production in their later years too. I think the only good thing the Grateful Dead did was influence Greg Ginn's autistic ass, and other than that I'll be "Greatful" when they're all "Dead" (if you catch my drift)

Probably my favorite band of all time, yep. Live '84 is a perfect live album, I should have put that in the live album thread.
It really is amazing. I was too afraid to admit that I have the bars tattooed on my wrist and risk being called names by a bunch of meanies but I now confess. I still deserve it but it feels good to get off my chest :welp_sm: But yeah, they're a great band at every phase imo.

It’s ok, nobody can see that when your arm is up another man’s ass.

Armstrong was kind of Greg Ginn's signature thing. He also played a Westone Spectrum, which was a guitar I bought in a pawn shop for like $80 planning to tear it apart and it ended up actually being a great fucking guitar. First one I ever had with coil taps.

Loved the pre-Rollins era growing up, although I liked "TV Party" from the Repo Man soundtrack. My older brother hated Henry Rollins so when the Rollins-posting era of the sub came around, I got a real chuckle out of it. Nervous Breakdown, Jealous Again and The First Four Years complication ruled. All in wit da SST Records, especially the Minutemen.

Not sure if you got it from this, but this is my favorite thing the Grateful Feds ever inspired.

WWAWD Decline of Western Civilization? Thought that shit rocked back in the day. Out of all the groups, I still listen to X and Fear for the most part.

That album was my introduction to hardcore punk too. I liked everything Black Flag did up to and including Damaged, but they lost me after that. Some of those later records sound like Greg Ginn was just throwing his guitar down the stairs and calling it a day. And Henry parading around in his little spandex tights was gay.

Great movie

West Coast Punk scene > East Coast

The only group to really stand out was Bad Brains, otherwise there is really no comparison. West Coast had so many bands at the time
