Republicans introduced a bill that would abolish the IRS and with it federal income tax, and replace it with a flat 30% sales tax. This will obviously never happen, but say it did? I'm all in with it to be completely honest witcha. Essentials like food would still be tax free and you get a ton more money in your pocket every week.

All taxation is theft in my opinion, but at least this takes a huge tax burden off of most people.

Are my taxes still going towards nigger welfare? The Ukrainian military? Israeli holohoax reparations and kike history museums? Elon Musk's pockets? NFL stadiums?

This would change nothing.

A flat sales tax on its face seems a fair way to do it. The problems arise when you can argue that if you hire a plumber, for a service, well a sales tax there seems reasonable as you are buying a service. But what if you apply the same logic to Amazon delivery drivers, they provide a service for Amazon and boom, you're back at an income tax. What would be far more effective for casting a wide net would be a transaction tax. Whenever money moves a flat tax is applied. It could be set as low as 2% as it immediately captures tax evasion schemes/offshore subsidy schemes as used by firms like Starbucks, those who earn and spend more pay more, digital currency limits evasion potential and in a socialist democratic society actually treats everyone equally which is kind of the point. Nobody raises this as a solution for the same reasons nobody talks about lobbying or tax loopholes for the super rich.

I’m for it, because people breaking into the country would have to pay.

They say it would get rid of the IRS, but it wouldn’t; they would still have to be there to look into businesses.

The bill will be DOA thou. They need to get rid of property taxes. God forbid people live off the grid.

That's why you split parts and labor.

No parts-all labor, as in the Amazon driver's case, no tax.

Parts and labor with the plumber, no tax on labor, tax on parts.
