I liked Hateful Eight, mostly. The "suck muh dick" scene didn't seem to fit the rest of it, I dunno what Tarantino was going for other than tee-hee shock. Django was okay if forgettable, and I didn't care for most of Basterds. Haven't seen anything past those. I think he made one truly great film, Jackie Brown, and a bunch of quite good-to-mediocre popcorn flicks.

Pulp Fiction out of nowhere has a guy literally get dragged into a pawn shop basement to get sodomized by the owner and an off duty police officer. And there is some dude in a gimp outfit as part of the sex dungeon. So some odd graphic sex or rape scene with depravity is not really out of the blue for Tarantino. First time you watched Pulp Fiction did you really anticipate that basement rape scene?
The main character in Kill Bill gets raped a bunch of times when she is in a coma as well. And Tarantino was known for choking and spitting on actresses as well. So the dude is just a maniac. Friends with Harvey Weinstein. Lives in Israel.

I liked "Basterds", and I liked "Once Upon A Time" too. That ending scene with Brad Pitt slaughtering hippies was LOL hilarious.

It's certainly in character for Tarantino, but in that film it seemed out of place to me in a way that the pawn shop scene didn't.

I loved the hateful eight. I don’t understand how anyone can not enjoy the movie. It’s the perfect opiate in the winter movie. Don’t believe me, wait until it’s January when it’s snowing (if it snows where you are) at night. Take an opiate and throw that movie on.

I was kinda indifferent on Kill Bill because I'm not in love with gook karate movies the way he was. I felt the same way about Hateful Eight. It was just alright. Django and IB were great, as was OUATIH. I'm surprised nobody's brought up him living in Israel for the pandemic yet.

Both were shit. Django was a black power fantasy film filled with shit blood effects and god awful characterization. (Yeah, eat your heart out, Leo. You'll be a good actor one day) and Inglourious Basterds was literally "What if le jews were suddenly badasses during WW2". They're both ridiculous and cringe. His only post-Kill Bill movie that was decent was Once Upon a Time.

To be fair, I didn't think it was anything mind-blowing, but it was the first modern Tarantino movie that I didn't roll my eyes at. Even Hateful Eight tested my patience.
