Just started playing it again, such a good fucking game, with one of the greatest soundtracks ever! The music takes me right back to 2003 when I first got it, they sure don't make em like they used to.

The hardest part for me is keeping the traffic under control. It can be a bitch once you start to really grow your city.

I gave up on cities skylines after half my city kept losing power, no matter what all I did to try and fix it. then people started abandoning their homes, businesses caught fire, and crime rates skyrocketed. lotta fawkin problems in that city

SimCity 4 is far more fun, whereas Skylines can start to feel overwhelming, and become a bit of a chore.

My favorite part of the game was doing a massive new expansion of my city then working backward on traffic and fixing it as it came up. Made city growth look more organic bc you would have feeder roads that eventually would have to be used as arterials so you'd have to work that into the grid or whatever. It was the only time I actually placed shit like parks bc my fixes would leave areas that needed fill

Love the SimCity 4 and still boot it up every so often. I tried Cities Skylines but couldn't get into it. The second one is coming out soon so I'll probably give it a shot.

Haven’t played it in years, but I loved the fact that you could create islands and shit.
I used to make cratered out areas and have power plants blow up and spread radiation everywhere.

Never listened to the soundtrack. I'd play it while listening to torrented albums by Aphex Twin and µ-ziq on my mp3 player, never building a city that was any good, just getting by. Same with Tropico.

City Skylines is way easier once you learn the hang of it, but gets way more boring way easier. SimCity let you "run" the city, something Skylines barely lets you do. I have to admit every SimCity after 2000 I've found more inferior than the one before it.

Tropico is straight baller shit though.

Do roundabouts in every conceivable situation. They might be mods, but they're the solution 9 times out of ten.

I think Tropico 4 was when I gave up on it. It used to be really fun but they got lazy. Great soundtrack too.
