Don't know about you guys but I'm a big fan. It's the only shows that all 3 of my kids will watch together and considering they're 20, 14 and 7 that's saying something. I know they over dramatize everything but they're interesting and informative. It's fascinating that 2 orcas have killed or chased away pretty much all of the sharks around South Africa. Plus I'm all in with Forest Galante.

I liked it when it was educational, when the celebrity guests became the show and the sharks sensationalism started I tapped out. So I think I saw season 1 only

I had a sea lion graze my leg while I was boogie boarding in 6th grade. Damn near shit myself. Once I got back to land I saw its head sticking out of the water. Called it a day after that.

In DR, we did this gay swimming with sea lions thing and they took everyone's picture feeding a sea lion and having the sea lion smush it's gross smelling face up against your cheek and "kiss" you. I remember looking into the fucker's mouth as I was dropping a fish in there and thinking "oh wow, these things can kill me." Literally bumping into a wild one would scare the shit out of me. The ones I saw were cool though, they were like big dogs. They just followed their trainers around.

My dumbass girlfriend had a fucking panic attack and had to get out of the water while we were swimming with "sharks" that were just giant algae eating faggots that are incapable of harming anything but she was all about the sea lions that could've ripped her stupid ginger throat out at any moment.

Remember when Michael Phelps was going to race a shark for shark week and everyone was speculating how they would logistically pull that off and then he ended up racing against a computer simulated shark. That was awesome

It was by a pier so you can see how big they actually are if you go to a couple spots on the pier where they lay on the pilings. They werent those lean friendly ones you see at sea world. They were huge and seemed like assholes. I know it wasnt trying to attack me or anything once I knew what it was but you knew it was big just by the bump. It felt like a horse. Plus the water wasnt clear so as a kid you think the worst. I hauled ass back to shore hoping it wasnt a shark.

Only entertaining thing on Shark Week was when the Jackass guys did a 'jump the shark' bit. And had a guy try to wakeboard off of a ramp over a shiver of sharks. Well he missed the jump by about 20feet and plunged right into the water. And one shark nearly bit one of his hands clean off literally a second after he hit the water.

If you splash they will instantly attack you. Also tons of shark attacks are preceded by someone urinating in the water (not out of fear, just relieving yourself). You can't punch their eyes as their eyes roll into their heads when they attack and bite stuff. You just gotta pry yourself from them and get onto a boat or land. And swim away from them slowly while facing them and not splash at all.

No one really knows why sharks eat people sometimes or just kill them and leave them other times. There was that famous attack on the girl Heather Boswell. Where she literally had a giant great white grab her and just swim around with her in its mouth instead of eating her. And it only ripped her leg off when she tried to climb up a ladder nearby. In the video of the attack you can see the shark just swimming around with her in its mouth, giving her a fun ride while she's screaming, and not biting her until the boat crew try to pull her out. Then it just rips her leg off.
