I get that everyone is too cool to like anything, especially if it’s a remake, but I think this is just as good as the original even if it’s good in slightly different ways

When I saw they were getting rid of the stop and shoot mechanic I was pretty worried but honestly they shut me up pretty good

I also dig all the hidden dialogue / events you can make happen. The developers really did a good job anticipating all the stupid shit players could get up to

They took out the U3 boss fight which I was initially upset about, but they took it out to beef up Separate Ways by adding it in, so in my opinion it evens out

My biggest gripe is not getting to ride the ski lift and snipe the ganados while Ashley does a little fist pump behind me, and in the grand scheme of things that’s a minor complaint

Hot Take - Re4 is great until you get to the castle, we'll pretend it's better than 1-cv for the sake of autism but fuck me, what a drag. Re5's more consistently better, gameplay wise, but similar to Re4, drags down toward the 2nd half.
