Happened a lot before 2020 too. I had a school friend die at 18 from one. Know quite a few sportsmen who either died or had to retire due to heart issues. It's not just fat old people that die.

Here in the South it's been a thing that happens all the time, as long as I can remember. Used to be everyone you knew had some secret fat fuck relative living in the back room of the house on a poor, heroic sofa a la Gilbert Grape's mom. A few of them managed to get themselves to school where I went. One of them ended up being able to get surgery to lose weight and save her life.
Watch a few docs on seed oils, that'll give you the answer. We fry a lot of foods in that shit down here, and it just so happens that they allowed fast food restaurants to stay open during the pandemic because they were "essential", and now that food is getting more expensive, more people are going to be eating that shit and it's only going to get worse.
