This goes to the broader point that democracy creates a false binary because the ideal of liberalism is inherent in the system itself and it's a one-way ratchet with no sensible release mechanism.

I was watching an interview with Keith Caputo who is the singer of Life of Agony. He transitioned to Mina for a few years and recently detransitioned and went on Buck Angel's podcast and laid out this excruciating interview trying to explain how the community and doctors failed him and allowed him to transition in the first place. He was surprisingly candid even if he tried to walk on egg shells as to not receive backlash, which he did. I believe most of the backlash came from him saying he was glad Trump won and was in support of the ban on the transitioning of minors. The madness is fading away. We are coming back to 90's politics where liberals were less insane and more counter culture and republicans were stuffy pretend Christians.
