Damn good movie, glad I saw it in imax. Maybe it just confirms my apolitical centrist biases, but it's hysterical watching the right screech "this is anti-Trump propaganda!" while the left screeches "they didn't make him enough like Trump!" Completely missing the point that whatever political happenings lead to the Civil War don't really matter, it's about how it affects the average citizen forcing to adapt to the new reality.
The four leads are great, Kirsten Dunst in particular playing a "dead on the inside" photographer completely drained of any motivation or inspiration but keeps slugging on because it's all she knows. The kid overdoes the acting a bit in the first ~30 minutes or so (especially at the gas station scene) but figures it out by the end. Jesse Plemons practically steals the movie in his one scene, probably the most tense moment in a movie full of tension throughout. Of course most of you reading this will probably relate to his character.
Sound design is great and the movie is paced well. Lot of little details are sprinkled throughout the movie that give you hints as to the larger picture in place, but it never really feels like the film is holding your hand through exposition.
