I was over a neighbor's house and they had this Bruce Springsteen acoustic session on in the background and it made me sick. Bruce was sitting there with his stupid guitar, telling these stories, acting like his music was so powerful.

I know it’s a real unpopulair opinion around here but i really like his early albums. Darkness on the Edge of Town, Nebraska and the River are fantastic albums and i listen to them regularly.

I do like that album. He's got a handful of songs I like, but it's outweighed by general disdain for him as a person.

Ever seen him live? I’ve seen him live once about 10 years ago. It was fantastic. 3 hours long and they played Darkness on the Edge of Town in it’s entirety front to back.

There are people who follow him with religious fervor, especially people from Jersey (WAWH WAWH WAWH), and they make me sick. One guy I know said his concerts were like spiritual revivals. Yuck.

That being said, he has some solid songs.

Never really cared for the whole Bruce thing, but I can't deny that he wrote some catchy tunes. "Nebraska" is the only album I really like, though, especially "Atlantic City" and that one tune where he kind of ripped off Suicide's "Frankie Teardrop". And he does a 1-2-3-4 on The Dictators' "Bloodbrothers" album, which I always thought was kind of cool. I know people who worship the guy, he'd do ten nights at Giants Stadium and they'd go to all ten shows. Bleh.

Saw him live once abut 10 years ago as well. They were indeed great.

I hear you. While it's not really my thing, I can respect the body of work. And on top of that, he's stuck to his guns, no one can really accuse him of being a trend-chaser or anything. He's kind of off in his own niche and always has been.
