Nothing worse than listening to a song and someone tells you “Nah bro you gotta listen to it in high fidelity”

Ok, so you go and pirate a lossless version of the audio, and it sounds really good! Then that same dude says “Nah bro you gotta listen to it in REAL high fidelity”

What this retard is actually talking about is spending half a grand on a turntable set up so you can accurately hear every snap and crack of a vinyl.

Fuck you faggot, I’m listening to my 240p rip of No Sleep Till Brooklyn. And i’m lovin it!

I'm with you but what gets me the most is the people who are apeshit about picture quality on video games. My one buddy is like that and he has to spend like 10 minutes fucking around with the video settings to get it to where it's not going to "break the immersion" for him and I can never tell any fucking difference. "It's not even 60 fps" Okay. How "immersed" do you need to be? No matter how good the shit looks, you should still be acutely aware that you are playing a video game.

I used to be really autistic about shit like that which I am deeply ashamed of.

This is going to sound really hoaky and gay ( :pfg_sm: ), but I think people like to focus on utilitarian stuff like that so they don't have to think about life in general. I specifically remember bringing up morality in Rope (which is the main topic of that movie after all) and getting sidetracked into "4K restoration" talk by this lame faggot.

he does realize he's holding a controller with buttons on it, right? Unless he's playing a video game playing simulation, the immersion is constantly broken.

I used to think this way, until I actually started downloading vinyl rips in FLAC. If it's a song you know VERY well, you will immediately be able to tell the difference. Even Spotify on extreme setting will sound tinny and crappy compared to the same song on vinyl. From experience, high grade studio headphones sound a lot better than basic ear pods.

The whole point is, do YOU personally find it "worth it" to waste money just so your music sounds a little better? In some ways, it does sound more like they're performing it right in front of you, but again, that's not even worth it to most people. Spotify is good enough.

The vinyl thing is very misunderstood. It's not placebo, it's not nostalgia, it's not JUST hipster shit... the mastering is totally different for vinyl than for other formats, there is way more information in the vinyl waveform, thus yeah there is more depth to songs. The kick and the snare will sound totally different to you when you actually hear the high fidelity of it.

This is also why a lot of music from the 70s and 80s will have the volume turned down very low compared to modern songs if you play them in Shuffle. The old songs are quieter because you have to amplify them to hear every detail. It's more "concentrated."

Personally I think it's kinda stupid to want a vinyl rip though, because the cracks and pops will always be in the exact same spot. Lmao, so you just have a damaged version of the song. The cracks and pops are only charming if you're listening to a legit vinyl and it varies in new places, every time. But who the fuck has time for that? I've never owned a vinyl record in my life.

The human ear can't hear above 128kbps MP3.
Objectively false. Trust me, I tried everything i could to fit my entire Nu Metal collection on my iPod back in the day.

128 destroys your hi-hats and cymbals, sounds like utter shit. Now, I'm sure you're just doing some digital format humor here, so I take that back and go fuck myself.

I wish I was able to accept shitty sub 60 fps like Abe here.
