My Mom is awful she's very difficult to deal with. During holidays when my brother, and his wife come to town she will get into verbal spats with my sister-in-law over nothing. One time she stayed upstairs instead of eating thanksgiving dinner with the family.

I agree, but my mum was an untreated paranoid schizo, it was another level of crazy! She thought there were listening devices everywhere... I'd come home & it would sound like a massive argument going on with all sorts of shouting... but she was there on her own. It was troubling to say the least.

Yeah my mom's similar... it's fucked. It's definitely where I got my craziness.

I realized mine was a cunt when my Dad was in hospital and having mild harmless delusions from the medication and head trauma, like thinking the President was visiting. I would just roll with whatever he was saying, as it was kind of funny and we were getting along for the first time. She would just tell him to stop saying stupid things and that he was just hallucinating. She was literally being a hole and a cunt.
