Women in the workplace. A rant.

Today I had a really important stakeholder meeting to chair, it’s about a multi million dollar project that’s going off the rails hard.

It’s been looming for two weeks and people who do this know you need to be prepared with numbers and data from the top of your head. I’ve been mentally preparing myself and my tone of voice all day. None of my other work matters atm.

A woman who does some clerical job can’t complain about this petty minor issue because her supervisor isn’t at work, and she decided to lump it on me.

She did 45 minutes overtime and only got paid 30 minutes. WHERE IS HER 15 MINUTES PAY!?!?

It doesn’t matter, you can’t appeal to reason. “Hey, I have a really important meeting in an hour, can we resolve this afterwards?”

NO, IT NEEDS FIXING! NOW!

It’s like 5 dollars. Who the fuck cares? She just didn’t shut the fuck up.

It drained me of all my decision making energy and focus and I was terrible in the call.

Why are women like this? If I reacted at all reasonably and just gave her the money from my wallet so she’d leave or tell her it’s not appropriate and email payroll, I’d get in loads of hot water over it.

I was just seething inside like FUCK OFF!

I fucking hate women. Boomers are the same way, too. They have this concept of “seniority” which to them means entitled to everything good and nothing bad and they die on this hill and fuck over everyone else constantly.

Once a year around this time I go and ask for a raise, I research it and fight with them and get something.

Then this woman who doesn’t like conflict and who wouldn’t do it, then goes and asks for the same bevause muh patriarchy. I do all the negotiating and conflict then she benefits too.

This year I didn’t ask for anything, I actually think my pay is fair and I’m not greedy.

Anyway, she’s now angry and “well, it’s a personal thing, go and ask for yourself” isn’t okay in her eyes. She thinks this is unfair etc.
