Try the 720. I just bragged about doing it in the Tony Hawk thread.

I was just cleaning shit out of a closet and finally tossed my 360 in the trash. The disc tray was busted and wouldn’t read and I was never able to replace it because apparently each disc tray is uniquely associated to the Xbox it is installed in. Mean Microsoft

the red ring of death was actually very easy to fix, but what a stupid fucking garbage product defect. The issue was poor contact from the heatsink to the motherboard. the dumb design didn't create a good seal. You just had to buy the new bracket for like $12 to fix it.

I remember people wrapping it in towels and running it so it overheated to fix it. Not sure if it worked or not.

All of my friends' 360s fucked up and died except mine. I even got the red ring of death one time and I just unplugged it for like a month and the next time I fired it up it was fine and never had another problem until the discs would get stuck in it. But even then I could pop the face off of it and there was a spot to stick a Bobby pin that would force the disc out

It worked. I used to do that shit all the time. It would work for like 4 days then red ring again

It did for a bit if you were a retard, but destroyed it the entire motherboard after a few weeks. All that did was just melt the old thermal paste and sometimes it helped a bit. It was a two step process.

1. remove the old heat sink.
2. add new thermal paste
3. replace with better clamps for a tigher connection
Why did it take shipping your xbox back to the manufacturer and 4000 indians looking at it only for it to be sent back to you red ringed
