Atheism is the religion of self. Only I can create my purpose, meaning, and existence. Not hard to see how that appeals to a brain dead failure who, while he couldn't even achieve a C in basic high school classes or function for a single shift as an employee at Target, gets to now have the answer to all of life's questions and quandries, it's mysteries and unknowns and the answer is contained within himself, the only person to whom he must answer, live up to or be accountable to.

Life gives you endless opportunities to seek grace and existential truth by providing ample hardship and pain. What kind of person seeks to want to grow none at all, as it would require themselves to answer to, or strive towards something higher? The same kind of asshole who studied nothing and is an expert at everything. The kind of person who is a vicious and unpleasant person and yet wants the adoration of all around them. A person who fancies themselves the God, the driving force and central figure behind everything around them. The person who seeks only themselves for answers. And coincidentally expects everyone else to seek them for answers too, having it all figured out with that Science Is Real bumper sticker with no introspection or wisdom at all.
