Wasn't even one of the core suspects.

Can't wait for more info on this.

It's pretty creepy the odds of getting away with murder if you have no connection to the victim. Law enforcement doesn't publicize that for obvious reasons.

Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years and you just know there are many unfortunate souls in shallow graves all around the planet (people who were never heard from again and won't ever be in the future).

Even in the age of video cameras and extreme gluttony it is frightening this can still happen

There's one of these types of stories every year. Same with db cooper, Jack the Ripper, Atlantis found, etc.

They always seem to lead to nothing
I hear ya, but this feels different as they're not saying "We believe to know the killers identity" like previous stories. They're making a definitive statement this go around.

The only person of interest back then was Arthur Leigh Allen. I'm undecided on whether or not it was him.

Usually it’s some attention whore claiming his dead dad was the killer with no basis whatsoever. This one seems a little different though. Don’t they still have DNA from a letter or something? This guy died not long ago; I’m sure they can extract something

iirc the DNA isn't considered reliable in this case because so many people handled the letter and nobody knew to preserve it back in the day.

I see. Shame they put too much stock in the handwriting. That shits not 100% either.
