I kept trying to get into it but there's something missing from it - the colour tone is annoying and none of the characters are likeable at all. The first season was OK but took me ages to finish it. Stopped watching at some point in season 2.

On a personal note, Laura Linney in that show was responsible for my first wet dream in like 15 years. It's weird. I don't find her particularly attractive and she's like 50 but I had a dream a couple of years ago (when I was watching the show) that was super vivid; the kind where I could "feel" her hot breath on me while we were making out. In it I fucked her while we were both fully clothed and she had on a skirt and those suspenders and stockings. The Snel family sucks hard and ruined the show, followed by some horrendously ugly children that take you out of the moment to the show pretending that Justin wife is a hottie. Also she got way too many lines, what I'm saying is, the show sucks but it's hate watchable

It’s not very good. The dialogue is so unrealistic. Basically no one is ever nice to each other. The little blonde girl curses nearly everybody out every single time she’s on screen, people she knows are involved in crime, no less. Tony Soprano would have tried to fuck her, then put her through a window if she started to throw the F word at him. She’s probably the worst actress I’ve seen since Julia Stiles.

jfc, no joke, my girlfriend and I got in a stupid fight over this show last night. she put it on because someone recommend it to her. I remember reading what it was about when it premiered and assumed it was going to be a breaking bad rip off so ignored it. we watched the first episode and i wasn't that off the mark. she asked what i thought after the first episode ended, obviously i didn't like it, and she got mad that I never like what she puts on and that i'm too "opinionated on things." I don't like half the shit i put on, it ain't exclusive to your dumb recommendations, bitch.

anyway, ozark isn't horrible but i really disliked it. it's miserable to sit through. it does come off as netflix's shoddy attempt to recreate breaking bad's magic. the creators changed the main character's white-collar occupation, every shot is now drenched in a cold blue hue (because all the characters are cold, maaaan) instead of BBs sun drenched orange color tone, and the main character's family is - from the get go - way more hateble than the whites. At least the breaking bad family was somewhat likeable in the beginning of the series.

the dialog isn't realistic, interesting, and tonally flat. There were moments that seemed like an attempt at black humor but it fails. it's also violent but not in an entertaining way. why would I want to watch four seasons of just an ugly, unrelatable, family doing horrible things to other people for the cartel? at least BB had humor, some heart, and identifiable characters.

sopranos might be another analog to ozark as well. i'm not tony soprano, but i can understand the reasons for some of his stupid decisions (especially the ones involving his family). bateman's character just comes off like weaselly, creepy, autist. i was already annoyed by the first dinner table scene when the daughter asked bateman for $10 for some stupid charity. he refuses just because she should understand the importance of money. the bitch was 17, why the fuck would she be asking her dad for $10? if you put that stupid request aside, what dad would refuse his daughter ten measly dollars for charity? it's $10! not even enough to buy good drugs with.

ozark fucking sucks and the more i think about it the more i hate it. don't watch it and if your stupid girlfriend/wife/butt buddy tries to make you endure forty minutes of that miserable crap: ignore her and put something else on.

The cartel lets a guy steal $8million from him with no consequence. When they usually behead people over insulting the color of their shoes. Then lets him move into the Ozarks with the FBI on his tail obviously. Instead of killing a witness to their laundering and moving their operation to a different bank. Then lets him launder their already laundered money again when the FBI are obviously watching his EVERY move. Then watches him get involved in multiple high profiles deaths and still does NOTHING to protect their investment.

And the local police and FBI are even more retarded. They had enough evidence to monitor his cell phones and watch his house 24/7. In the first season he is openly talking about drug cartels and murders on the phone. Yet no arrests? And the FBI just blurts to him that his partner was a CI. The writing is pathetic.

Casting is terrible. Tons of kikes. Completely unnecessary faggot characters that add nothing to the plot.

Characters behave like complete morons. Tons of coincidences. Like every single thing that the main character tries to launder money through ends up connecting to a criminal gang. The FBI would have this case wrapped up in the first episode in real life.

One of the best parts of Sopranos was the realism. No talking on the phone ever. No talking in certain locations about business. Always using code words and code phrases. "Whatever happened to that thing...with the guy....from the other place?". On Ozarks they discuss murders using real names right in the open or on the phone.

Jason Bateman comes across as a total weakling and faggot. Gandolfini could pull off a killer tough guy who was menacing. Bateman is a fucking queer who just cannot look or sound intimidating.

Sopranos didn't just get you attached to characters and kill them off. That's the antithesis to keeping the viewer emotionally invested.
