Just yesterday at work I was talking with one of my VP’s who is originally from Italy and he said the exact same thing. He said it’s isn’t ending anytime soon and will just become normal and the US will keep sending money and tanks which won’t end it.

Regime change in Russia could end it, but that's probably the least likely scenario at this point. And even if a reformer like Navalny replaced Putin, I don't think things would completely end - even Navalny probably wouldn't want to let Crimea go. I say this as someone who's of mostly Ukrainian descent.
